This Thursday: Brown bag with the University’s counsel

The Higher Education Students Association (HESA) is holding a brown bag lunch with Wendell V. Courtney, General Counsel for The Pennsylvania State University, on November 13th at 12:30 pm in 221 Chambers Building.

Mr. Courtney plans on discussing legal issues in higher education, the role of university counsel, and the relationship between university counsel and faculty, administrators, and students.

Mr. Courtney’s duties include providing advice and representation for the University at its 24 locations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on a broad variety of legal and policy matters, including all aspects of corporate governance and compliance, labor and employment, contracts and related transactional matters, compliance with federal and state legislation, student conduct issues, NCAA compliance, research ethics, affirmative action, litigation and constitutional law.  For more, click here.
