You are all formally invited to the HESA Holiday Party being held at the Atherton Hotel on Thursday, December 11th at 5:30pm.
Tickets can be paid for at Angela Packer’s Desk. Cost is $25 for HESA members, $28 for Adult Guests, and $15 for children. This cost includes a wonderful dinner. There will be a cash bar available from 5:30-6:30pm.
The night will also include a fun Holiday/Higher Ed oriented game (Possibly Family Feud Style), music (a piano will be provided), and a white elephant gift exchange. (A white elephant gift exchange involves bringing a wrapped item that you choose to re-gift that is usually humorous in nature. Please do not go out and spend your precious money on this part of the party! Framed pictures of certain faculty members always make great gifts!)
If you have any questions please contact Jordan or Travis.
Again, sign-ups and money are being collected by Angela. Please RSVP by Monday Dec. 8th so that we can place our food orders to the Atherton…
The meal will include a buffet of the following: Spinach Salad Mimosa, Seasonal Vegetables, Chef’s Selection of Potato or Rice, Grilled Vegetable and Three Cheese Lasagna, Chicken Florentine, Sliced Sirloin with Roasted Garlic Jus, Chef’s Dessert Selection, Warm Rolls and Butter, Colombian Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and Iced & Hot Specialty Tea
Our next HESA/HER workshop is December 9, at 11:30pm in 403 Rackley.
Join Meghan Pifer and Brad Cox, Co-Editors of Higher Education in Review, for a roundtable discussion of the opportunities and challenges associated with managing the only student-run scholarly journal in Higher Education.
Learn more about how the journal developed, the board’s current goals and initiatives for Volume 6, and what role the Editors play in the work of the journal.
The roundtable will provide an opportunity to make suggestions about how to improve the journal or to ask questions about the publication process.
**Selection of HER’s next editor(s) will take place in January. This event may be particularly informative for those considering applying for the position of Editor or other editorial board positions for Volume 7.**
We hope to see you there!
